Over the years, our family business has grown from an 'outdoor sports company' into an organization with multiple locations, activities, and group accommodations. Curious?

Accommodation and activities

The first base of operations of the Strandhoeve Group can be found on the border of the 'old' and 'new' land; on the former Zuiderzee beach near Blokzijl. Here, much has been developed and changed in recent years.

From an old farm, the courtyard was first converted into a Bed & Breakfast (2008). Soon after, the events and activity center followed (2011). A few years later, the group accommodation SuyderZee/OudLand/NieuwLand opened its doors (2013).

At this location, many guests have been able to enjoy the most fun parties and gatherings, cozy indoor and outdoor activities, events such as Elsefly and Ladiesnight were organized, and people could recreate in the Maisdoolhof Blokzijl (Blokzijl Corn Maze).

From the beginning of 2024, it was decided to take a new direction. The events and activity center and the B&B have since been converted into new group accommodations: De Hoeve, DijkZicht, and PolderZicht. Still focused on groups and entertainment, but now combined with an overnight stay.

And the indoor and outdoor activities? They are still available. No longer at our location, but at our partner companies in the surrounding area. They provide the location and hospitality; we provide the fun activity.

Pavilion in Rijksmonument Waterloopbos

What many people don’t know is that Strandhoeve has expanded further with multiple businesses at various locations in the Steenwijkerland area and the Noordoostpolder. Since 2018, the subsidiary Paviljoen het ProefLab// has opened in the Rijksmonument Waterloopbos. The pavilion, located in a unique setting, is a perfect place to have lunch, enjoy homemade pastries, or dine extensively. Mostly using local products, the chef also presents flavorful vegetarian and vegan options.

Brasserie AanDeel

in the heart of Emmeloord

In Emmeloord, Brasserie AanDeel opened in 2021. A great place for good food and drinks. The company offers daytime activities for young adults with support needs, who are given the opportunity to discover and develop their talents, and to build social connections while working at Brasserie AanDeel. They guide these young people with great passion. They are coached on the work floor and given their own responsibilities, helping their self-confidence grow. You can see it and taste it! From November 11, 2025, Brasserie AanDeel has been taken over by Annemarie and Martijn, previously our managers there and involved in the project from the very start.
